LilyHR is a Vancouver-based fractional HR firm built specifically for British Columbia small businesses. We work as your HR department — CPHR-certified, BC-specialized, and available when you need us.
Most small businesses in BC navigate employment law completely alone. We started LilyHR to change that.
The people running BC's small businesses are builders, operators, and entrepreneurs. HR law is not their expertise — and it shouldn't have to be. But the consequences of getting it wrong are real: wrongful dismissal claims, WorkSafeBC penalties, and the compounding cost of doing things by feel rather than by the book.
LilyHR was built to give BC small businesses access to the same quality of HR support that large organizations take for granted — without requiring them to hire a full-time team to get it.
We specialize exclusively in British Columbia employment law. That focus means every piece of guidance we give, every contract we draft, and every policy we develop is built on deep, current knowledge of the BC ESA, WorkSafeBC requirements, and BC Human Rights Code — not generic Canadian advice that may or may not apply to your situation.
Canada has 13 different employment law jurisdictions. Each province has its own Employment Standards Act, its own overtime rules, its own leave entitlements, and its own approach to termination and severance. Generic Canadian HR advice often gets the details wrong.
By specializing in British Columbia, we know every nuance of the BC ESA, WorkSafeBC obligations, the BC Human Rights Code, and how BC courts interpret common law severance. When you ask us a question about your BC business, you get a BC answer — not a hedged response that covers every province at once.
Angelo is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources with direct professional experience in BC employment law, HR operations, and workforce compliance. He founded LilyHR to make senior HR expertise accessible to BC's small business community without the cost of a full-time hire. Angelo leads client engagements and is the primary point of contact for compliance and termination matters.
A CPHR candidate with hands-on experience supporting BC businesses through HR policy development, performance management, and organizational development. She brings a people-first approach to every engagement, with particular depth in employee relations, onboarding program design, and workplace culture. She works alongside Angelo on all Full Support retainer clients.
We don't give generic Canadian HR advice. Every recommendation we make is grounded in BC employment law and relevant to your specific situation in this province.
We work as an extension of your team, not as an external vendor you call once a year. We get to know your business, your people, and your goals — so our advice is always in context.
HR and employment law can be dense. We explain things in plain language, give you direct answers, and tell you when something is worth worrying about and when it isn't.
HR situations don't always happen at convenient times. We commit to 48-hour response times on Essential retainers and 24-hour priority response on Full Support — because timing matters.
The most expensive HR problems are the ones that could have been prevented. We stay ahead of legislative changes, flag emerging risks, and help you build the processes that stop problems before they start.
Everything you share with us is treated with the same professional confidentiality you'd expect from a lawyer or accountant. Your people, your situations, and your business remain private.
